Ingredients:
For the Dough:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Garlic-Parmesan Sauce:
3 tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
1 cup cooked, shredded chicken (season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs)
1 cup fresh spinach leaves
½ cup sliced red onion
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded provolone cheese
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Make the Dough:
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a separate large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let the dough rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Garlic-Parmesan Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Whisk in the flour to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until it thickens (about 5 minutes).
Add the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Assemble the Pizza:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Brush the edges of the crust with olive oil.
Spread a thin layer of the garlic-parmesan sauce over the dough.
Evenly distribute the cooked chicken, spinach, and red onion on top of the sauce.
Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese over the toppings. Finish with a pinch of dried oregano.
4. Bake:
Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
5. Garnish & Serve:
